Bhaktapur is the center of terracotta products. The two pottery squares are widely popular where they are produced. Potters, who are Kumah by the cast, are popular to shape the clay in various forms. First lumps of clay are shaped on wheels. Then they are dried under the sun for two to three days. Next, they are fired in chimneys for three full days. Potter is ever busy making small to large pots, potteries of animals, birds toys, others.

Daura-Suruwal (दौरा सुरुवाल) is one of the national outfits of Nepalese men. The Daura is a variant of the Kurta and is the upper garment, the Suruwal is the trouser. The coat was added to the costume by Jang Bahadur Rana, a prime minister of Nepal in the 19th century. The outfit is also popular in Darjeeling in neighboring India amongst people of Nepali origin.  The local Haku patasi is most popular here. Women in Bhaktapur use to wear these sarees. The black saree with a red border is known as Haku patasi.
